Pictures are $20, no matter how many are in the portrait, so bring in all your pets, family members, and random people you meet on the street! You get an uncopyrighted disc with the picture, so you can make as many prints as  you'd like.. these make great Christmas cards, too!

Dogs Unchained!

Did you know...?

Dogs suffer from boredom, stress and loneliness on the end of a chain.

Dogs are pack animals who want and need socialization and companionship.

Chained dogs are associated with crime and are used to guard drug houses and in dog fighting rings.

The American Veterinary Medical Association warns that chaining a dog can contribute to aggressive behavior.

The U.S. Dept. of Agriculture prohibits chaining as the primary means of confinement under the Animal Welfare Act.

The Center for Disease Control states that chained dogs are 2.8 times more likely to bite than unchained dogs.

Nearly 100 state and local jurisdictions ban or severely restrict dog chaining.

The Coalition to Unchain Dogs is a non-profit, volunteer effort dedicated to improving the welfare of dogs living outdoors on chains, based in Durham, NC. Take a look at this great video, shot one weekend this summer, when volunteers built 40 free fences, releasing over 50 dogs from life on a chain. GREAT WORK, PEOPLE!!

A Hairy Situation Indeed

No, it's not snowing in Oklahoma, that's Sassy C., relaxing on Tambra's lap while her wooly coat is sheared for summer. Sasquatch, an aptly named Great Pyrenees, is a unlikely lap dog at 140lbs, but we didn't tell HER that! Her massive coat will go to Matter of Trust. That's MISTAH Barney To You!

Barney W., basset hound extraordinaire, was very vocal today about his hopes to help the environment with the donation of his entire undercoat. While having his picture taken for the blog today, he told us about his strong support of Matter of Trust, and his sorrow for the wildlife being affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Barney is a basset with a big heart, who enjoys belly rubs, ear scratches, a story at bedtime, and a nice suite treat now and then.

Beautiful Bella

While dad was in town this weekend assessing the hail damage from last week's storm, Bella B. relaxed at our grooming salon, enjoying a day of pampering. As helpful in a disaster as her dad, she also donated her fur coat to help Matter of Trust clean up oil spills, like the one in the Gulf of Mexico. All the fur that Bella donated was obtained through our Shedicure process, which can reduce shedding up to as much as 80%!!
